The extras your guests already ask for, on sale in the guidebook

A dog package. Early check-in. A hamper for the first morning. Right now those arrive as a WhatsApp message and a bank transfer you have to chase. Put them in the guidebook your guests are already reading and they pay by card, into your own account.

What it is actually worth

Nobody can tell you what you’ll earn. Here is the sum instead.

Every other guidebook will quote you a percentage. We went looking for the study behind those numbers and there isn’t one — they trace back to vendors quoting each other. So here are two figures that do have a source, and the multiplication in between. Do it with your own numbers.

So: about 30 bookings a year. If one guest in three adds a £25 dog package, that is roughly £250. If half take a £15 hamper, another £225.

We are not claiming those attach rates — we don’t know yours, and neither does anyone selling you software. What we can say is what each booking is worth if you charge for something you are probably already doing for free, and that Sykes puts the average tax-and-licensing bill at £1,450 a year. A few hundred pounds of extras is that line covered.

When we have real numbers from real QuietStay hosts, they will replace this paragraph. Until then you get the working, not a claim.

Written for British guests

Start with the dog

American upsell software leads on airport transfers. In a UK holiday let the single most reliable extra has four legs — and unusually for this category, there is real evidence that guests expect to be charged for it.

A dog fee is the rare extra nobody resents: the guest has already assumed it exists. After that come the ones every host gets asked for anyway — early check-in, a late checkout on the last morning, a fridge with milk and bread in it.

Setting it up

81 extras written and priced already

You are not starting at a blank “add your first item” screen. The library is grouped by the moment in the stay it belongs to, so the shop reads like your guest’s trip rather than an unsorted price list. Tick the ones you offer; edit any word of them.

Where the money goes

Into your account, not ours

You connect your own Stripe account and you are the merchant of record. The guest pays you. Stripe's card-processing fees plus QuietStay's 2% platform fee come off each sale; the rest is paid out to you.

A 2% platform fee

No monthly charge for the store, no per-item fee, no minimum. If you sell nothing, it costs you nothing.

Not a commission split

Guidebooks that monetise through tour affiliates hand you a slice of someone else’s sale. This is your own hamper, at your own price, and the payment is yours.

Included in your membership

The store is part of QuietStay from £3 a month per property on Offer2Stay, £10 standard. It is not a tier you have to upgrade into.

Where guests see it

In the guidebook they already opened

No second app, no extra link, nothing for the guest to install. The store sits in the guidebook you send with the booking — the one they open for the WiFi password and the door code, then again for somewhere to eat.
