When it goes wrong

"PDFs up to 8 MB" when I upload a manual to the concierge

Upload PDF takes files up to 8 MB. Save or export a smaller copy of the manual, or split it and upload only the pages guests ask about. You can also skip the file and paste the few facts that matter into the note box, which is what the concierge reads either way.

Upload PDF sits on the AI assistant page under Teach your concierge. We read the text out of the file and store it as a note the concierge can quote. Two limits apply: 8 MB for the upload, and 20,000 characters for what we store from it.

Getting the file under 8 MB

  1. Most oversized manuals are large because of scanned pages and photographs, not words. Re-export or print the file to PDF at a smaller size, or use your PDF reader's compress or reduce-size option.
  2. If it is still too big, split it and upload only the parts guests actually ask about — the hot tub, the boiler, the oven, the alarm.
  3. Give it a title, such as Hot tub manual, and pick All properties or a single property before you upload.

The faster alternative

Paste the handful of facts a guest would ask into the note box and press Add note. A short, plain note usually answers guests better than a manual does, and the concierge uses it from the very next question.

The other limit

A long PDF that is under 8 MB is accepted and trimmed to the first 20,000 characters. The confirmation says so when it happens, so check the message after the upload — if the part guests need was near the end of the manual, add it as a note as well.

If it still will not upload

Check the file really is a PDF; the button accepts nothing else. Then reply to any email from QuietStay and we will take a look.

Still stuck? Reply to any email from us — it reaches a person, not a form, and we answer every one.
