The editor saves each field on its own. When one of those saves fails, the toolbar turns to Some changes didn't save and stays there until a later save succeeds.
Put it right
- Do not close the tab. Anything not yet written is still in the page.
- Check your connection — the message also appears when the laptop drops off the WiFi for a few seconds.
- Click back into the field you last changed, retype the last word and click away. Watch the toolbar go to Saving… then Saved.
- Reload the page and check the text is really there. The editor reads everything back from the database when it loads, so what you see after a reload is what your guests get.
If it says you do not have permission
The message You don't have permission to change this guidebook — ask an owner or admin for editor access means the account you are signed in as is a viewer on this workspace. The toolbar also reads Read-only (viewer) and a banner sits under it. Nothing you type will save until an owner or admin changes your role.
If it happens on one field only
A field that fails every time while others save is worth reporting rather than fighting. Note the section, the box and roughly what you typed.
