Setting it up

Where do I put the door code or lockbox instructions?

Use the Door code field on the editor home screen, or How guests get in (code · lockbox · key) on Property details. Either writes to the Access box in your Check-in section, and guests see it under How to get in.

This is the one thing a guest looks for at 11pm on the doorstep, so it has its own field rather than being buried in a section.

Add it

  1. On the editor home screen, click the Door code field in the header — or open Property details and use How guests get in (code · lockbox · key).
  2. Type the code, or the whole instruction. Both work: 4821, or Key safe by the door, code 4821, or Smart lock — code texted on arrival.
  3. Click away from the field to save it.

A short entry of 14 characters or fewer is shown to guests as a big code with a Copy button. Anything longer is shown as a sentence.

Until you fill it in

The seeded wording How guests get in — code/keysafe/smart lock counts as empty. Guests see XXXX and the line Your host hasn't added the entry details yet. The same is true if you leave it blank.

A different code for each guest

Under the field is Different lockbox code for each guest. Tick it and the fixed code above is hidden from guests: each one unlocks only their own code with their arrival date. Leave it off if you use one code for everybody.

If you see "Add a Check-in section first"

The message reads Add a Check-in section first (Add a section → Blank, or re-import). Add a section, choose Blank section and name it Check-in; the field then creates an Access box in it for you. If it still will not save, reply to any email from QuietStay and it reaches a person.
