The /start wizard lets you build a whole guidebook before you make an account, which is deliberate — you see something worth keeping before you are asked for anything. Until you finish the account, though, the session exists only in this browser.
Where it stops you
- Subscribing: Add an email and password to your account first (Settings → Your account) — an anonymous session can't start a subscription.
- Buying a house manual template: the same line, without the second half.
- Inviting a teammate: Only owners and admins with a full account can invite teammates.
- A standing banner on the dashboard: Protect your work. You're on an anonymous session — if you clear cookies or switch devices, you lose access to everything here.
How to finish the account
- Open the dashboard. The Protect your work banner sits near the top.
- Type your email address and choose a password of at least 8 characters.
- Press Secure my account.
- Open the confirmation link in the email we send you. The account only stops being anonymous once that link is opened, so the banner stays until you do.
- Try the subscription, purchase or invite again.
You can do the same from Settings, then Your account.
Do this before anything else
An anonymous session cannot be recovered. Clearing your cookies, using private browsing, or opening the dashboard on a different device before you finish this loses access to everything you have built. If that has already happened, reply to any email from QuietStay with the guest link of the guidebook you made and we will try to find it.
