Help Account & settings

How it works

What can an admin, an editor and a viewer each do?

Admins do everything: guidebooks, billing, team, payouts, branding and settings. Editors change guidebooks, the store, the calendar and messages, but never billing, team or settings. Viewers can only read. The rules are enforced by the database, not only by what the screen shows.

Every person on your account holds one role. It decides what they can open and what they can change.

Owner

The account that set the business up. An owner can do everything an admin can, and cannot be removed from the team by anyone.

Admin

Full access. Guidebooks, the store, the calendar and messages, plus the whole business half of Settings: Team members, Account & payment, Notifications, Payout account, Default branding, Data export, Integrations and the Danger zone. Adding and deleting properties is admin-level too.

Some older accounts show a manager role. It has the same access as admin.

Editor

Everything to do with the guest-facing side: edit and publish guidebooks, add and reorder sections, run the store and its orders, work the calendar and bookings, send messages, and edit your guest contacts and guest notes.

An editor cannot open Team members, billing, payouts, branding, notifications, data export or the danger zone — that whole panel is hidden for them — and cannot add or delete a property.

Viewer

Read-only. A viewer can read your guidebooks, your guest notes and your returning-guest list, and change nothing. Bookings in Calendar and bookings start at editor level, so a viewer does not see them.

Two rules that catch people out

Changing someone's role

There is no role picker on an existing member. Remove them, then invite them again at the role you want. If that would lock you out of your own account, reply to any email from QuietStay first and we will check it with you.

Still stuck? Reply to any email from us — it reaches a person, not a form, and we answer every one.
