Calendar feeds carry no guest names, so guests identify themselves. The first surname given for a stay claims it, and a second, different name on the same stay is refused.
What you see
A registered booking shows the name with a small tag: guest registered once it is settled, or awaiting your OK while it waits on you. Alongside it are two buttons:
- Approve — accept the name. The guest's entry details unlock straight away.
- Not this guest — clear the name, so the booking is free for the right guest to register. Use it if a previous guest still has the link, or someone has guessed a date.
Choosing how strict to be
Each property sets this in Access codes, under When a booking has no surname yet and a guest registers themselves:
- Off — only guests you have named can unlock. A booking with no surname stays locked until you add one.
- Automatic — a guest who gives the right arrival date unlocks straight away, and you are told each time.
- Ask me first — the name is saved, nothing is shown, and you approve it. Recommended, but a guest at the door waits on you.
A surname you type yourself, or one your PMS sends, always works whichever setting is on.
If the wrong name is on a booking
Press Not this guest on that booking, then tell the guest to try again. If you would rather set it yourself, press + Add guest name and type the correct surname. Reply to any email from QuietStay if a guest still cannot get in.
