This message means QuietStay fetched the link you gave it and what came back was a web page, not a calendar file. It is almost always the same mistake, and it takes a minute to fix.
What went wrong
Booking sites have two things that both look like a calendar:
- the calendar page you look at in your browser — this is the one in your address bar, and it is not what we need
- the export link, which a computer reads — this is the one that ends in
.ics
Copying the address bar gives you the first one. QuietStay needs the second.
Get the right link
- On your booking site, look for Export calendar, Sync calendars, or Connect to another website — the wording differs by site, but the word export or sync is always there.
- Copy the link it gives you. Check it ends in
.icsbefore you leave the page. - Back in Calendar & bookings, replace what is in the box and press Re-sync now.
Two other things that cause this
- The link needs a login. If the calendar is behind a password, we get the sign-in page instead of the calendar. Booking sites give out export links that do not need one — use that.
- The link has expired. Some sites rotate their export links. Generate a fresh one and paste it in again.
If it still will not work
Reply to any QuietStay email with the link you are trying and which site it came from, and we will check it from our end.
