QuietStay validates a key by calling your provider live and waiting up to ten seconds for an answer. When no answer arrives at all — as opposed to a refusal — you get this message and nothing is stored.
What to do
- Wait a minute or two and press Connect again. The same key is fine to re-use; nothing was saved and nothing is half-connected.
- If it fails repeatedly, check your provider's own status page or dashboard. If you cannot sign in to them either, the outage is theirs and there is nothing to change here.
- Try again later in the day. Connecting is a one-off step, so a delay costs you nothing.
How to tell this apart from a bad key
- Those credentials were rejected by the PMS means your provider answered and said no. That is a key problem — see Those credentials were rejected by the PMS.
- Couldn't connect — try again means nobody answered. That is a reachability problem, and the key is very likely fine.
In the meantime
Your calendar links keep working and keep bringing in bookings, so you are not left without dates while this is sorted. See How do I get my bookings into QuietStay?.
If it still will not connect
Reply to any email from QuietStay with the provider name and roughly when you tried, and a person will test the connection from our side.
