On the templates page you can paste your website address and see your own manual, watermarked, before paying anything. When the reader cannot use the address you gave it, the box tells you which of these happened.
What each message means
- "That doesn't look like a web address — try it with the www." The address was not recognised as a URL. Type it in full, for example
www.yourcottage.co.uk. - "That address can't be read from here. Use your public website address." The page is blocked to us. A listing behind a login, an internal address or a social profile will do this.
- "We couldn't reach that site. Check the address and try again." Nothing answered. Check the spelling and that the site loads in your own browser.
- "Something went wrong reading the site. Please try again in a moment." The read started and failed part way. Try again shortly.
- "That's a few tries in a row — give it an hour, or just buy and fill it in." There is a limit of 5 builds a day from one internet connection.
- "Website reading is briefly unavailable. Please try again later." The service behind it is off at our end, not yours.
What to do
- Open your website in your own browser and copy the address from the bar.
- Paste it in and press Build my manual. It takes about twenty seconds.
- If it still fails, buy the From your website tier and fill the manual in from the form instead — nothing on that form depends on your site.
If it still will not build
