Help Guests

What guests see

What does a guest do to see their entry code?

They tap a padlocked card in the guidebook that says "Tap to reveal". Depending on your setting they then type the surname on the booking and their arrival date, or just confirm — and their code, plus any note you left for them, appears.

Locked details show as a card with a padlock, your title for it, and Tap to reveal. Tapping opens a small sheet.

Where you ask for surname and arrival date

The sheet is headed Your entry code and asks for:

The button says Show my code. If you have guest registration switched off for the property, the sheet says so up front: "Enter the surname your host has on the booking and your arrival date. Not on it yet? Message your host and they'll add you."

Where the code is set for their stay

Nothing is typed. The sheet says "These details are set for your stay — tap to reveal." QuietStay checks the dates against your bookings, not the guest's word.

Where anyone with the link may see it

The sheet simply says "Tap to reveal".

After it unlocks

The card opens to show the details, their own code for that booking, and the note you put on that stay. Nothing is stored on the phone: reopening the guidebook later asks again, so a tablet left in the property does not keep the last guest's code on screen.

What guests are told when it does not open

Every refusal has plain wording, for example "We couldn't find a stay matching that surname and arrival date", "That stay is already registered under a different name", or "Thanks — your host has been asked to confirm it's you." Each one ends by telling them to message you.

If a guest is stuck

Check that booking has the right arrival date and a code on it, in Access codes or Calendar & bookings. If you would rather not make them try again, send them the code yourself and reply to any email from QuietStay so we can look at what they hit.

Still stuck? Reply to any email from us — it reaches a person, not a form, and we answer every one.
