Publishing is the line between a guidebook only you can see and one a guest can open on their phone. It is worth knowing exactly what moves.
Before you publish
Your guidebook exists, you can edit it, and you can preview it — but the web address does not work for anyone else. Nothing you have typed is reachable by a guest, or by anyone you have not shown it to.
When you press Publish
Three things happen at once:
- The web address goes live. Your guidebook gets its own link, which you can change in the editor.
- The QR code starts working. The one you print for the kitchen wall points at that address, so it keeps working even if you change what is inside.
- The AI assistant can answer about this property, if you have turned it on. Until publication it has nothing to read.
What guests see
Exactly what your preview shows, on their own phone, with no app to install and nothing to sign into. They see the sections you have added, in the order you put them.
Changes after publishing
Edits go live as you save them — there is no second Publish to press. That is deliberate: fixing a wrong door code should take seconds, not a deploy. It also means a half-finished section is visible while you are writing it, so add the section last if a guest is arriving today.
Unpublishing
You can unpublish at any time. The address stops working and the guidebook goes back to being yours alone. Nothing is deleted, and republishing puts it back at the same address.
What is not automatic
Publishing does not send the link to anybody. Guests get it because you share it, print the QR code, or set up a message before arrival that carries it.
