Look & publishing
Photos and colours, previewing, publishing, your web address and QR codes.
Setting it up
How do I set the cover photo guests see first?
In the editor's Design panel, under Cover photo, select Add image (or Replace image) and pick a JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, HEIC or AVIF file up to 5 MB. The two sliders underneath move the crop left-right and up-down, and everything saves as you go.
How do I put my own colours, fonts and logo on the guidebook?
The Design panel in the editor sets the Headings and Buttons colours and offers eight ready-made font pairings. Your logo and business name live on the Cover, photos & colours page. Everything saves as you change it and reaches guests within seconds.
How do I check what my guidebook looks like before guests do?
Select Preview as guest in the editor toolbar. It draws the real guest guidebook from the same data guests get, and you can switch between Laptop and Phone, and between This page and Whole guidebook.
How do I choose the web address my guests open?
In the editor, open Property details, edit the box after www.quietstay.co.uk/g/ and select Save link. Suggest fills it in from the property name. The same editor sits on the QR poster page, under Your link.
How do I get the guidebook to my guests?
Copy the link from the property's QR poster page (Share link, then Copy link), or paste a ready-written Quick reply into the Airbnb, Booking.com or WhatsApp thread. The link only works for guests once the property is published.
How do I print a QR poster for the property?
Open the property's QR poster page — from the dashboard row, or Share QR/link in the editor — and select Print / Save as PDF. The same page downloads a white poster, a photo poster, a phone mockup, an A6 fridge card, and a WiFi card when your guidebook has WiFi details.
How it works
What actually happens when I publish?
Publishing puts your guidebook at its own web address so guests can open it. Nothing is visible to anyone until you do, and you can unpublish at any time.
When it goes wrong
"That image is over 5 MB" — my photo will not upload
QuietStay accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, HEIC and AVIF images, up to 5 MB each. Save a smaller copy of the photo — around 2000 pixels on the long edge is plenty for a cover — and it will go on.
The address I want says "Taken — try another"
Guidebook addresses are unique across every host on quietstay.co.uk, so one that someone else already uses is refused. Add the village, the house number or your business name — hyphens are allowed — and the line under the box turns to Available.
"That domain is already in use on another guidebook"
A custom domain can point at one guidebook only. Find the property that has it now, empty its domain box and click away, then enter the domain on the property you want. Only owners and admins can see this setting.
What guests see
What does a guest actually see when they open the link?
A full-screen welcome page with your cover photo behind it, your logo and business name, "Welcome to" and the property name, and one button reading "Open your guidebook". There is no app to install and no account to create.
A guest says the link does not work — what are they seeing?
If the guidebook is not published, the address shows a QuietStay page headed "This page is having some quiet time" — we never show a draft to guests. Publish it in the editor and the same link starts working straight away.
