Setting it up

Can I get a notification on my phone when a guest does something?

Yes. Open Settings, then Notifications, and select Enable on this device under Phone notifications. It is per device, so repeat it on each phone or computer you want pinged. On iPhone, add the dashboard to your home screen first and enable it from there.

Phone notifications reach you the moment a guest leaves a note, places an order or replies — the instant version of the alert emails, with no app store involved.

Turn it on

  1. Open Settings, then Notifications, and find Phone notifications.
  2. Select Enable on this device.
  3. Your browser asks permission. Allow it.
  4. It then reads On for this device, with Send test and Turn off beside it.

Send test pushes a notification to that device straight away, which is the quickest way to prove it works.

On iPhone and iPad

Apple only allows this from an installed app. Open the dashboard in Safari, use Share, then Add to Home Screen, open the dashboard from that new icon, and enable it there. The pane tells you this itself when it sees an iPhone.

It is per device

Each phone, tablet and computer is enabled separately, and Turn off only turns off the device you are using.

What the other messages mean

What they say

The same events as the email alerts, and the same switches control them: turning off an alert in the panel above also stops its phone notification. See Which emails does QuietStay send me, and who else on my team gets them?.

If nothing arrives

Send a test first. If the test does not appear, check your phone's own notification settings for the browser or the installed dashboard, then reply to any email from QuietStay and it reaches a person.

Still stuck? Reply to any email from us — it reaches a person, not a form, and we answer every one.
