What arrives with a booking depends entirely on where it comes from.
What each source gives you
- A calendar link (iCal). Dates, and often the channel it came from. Some feeds put a name in the booking title and we use it; Airbnb never does. Lodgify masks the name, and a masked name takes up the space a real one would while telling you nothing, so it is not shown.
- A PMS connection. The guest's name, email address and phone number with every reservation. See How do I connect Hostaway, Lodgify or SortedStay?.
- The guest. When a guest opens the guidebook to unlock their entry details, they type the surname on the booking and it attaches to that stay.
- You. Press + Add guest name on the booking and type the surname.
Why the surname matters
- In Only guests who confirm their booking mode, the surname plus the arrival date is what unlocks the entry details.
- Nuki keypad codes are only cut for stays that have a surname, so a nameless booking gets no code.
- Messages and thank-yous match on the surname the stay carries.
A surname you type always wins, and it survives every later sync — feeds refresh the dates, never your typing.
The badges on each booking
The coloured tag shows where the booking came from: the channel name (Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, Lodgify, Expedia, Tripadvisor) when the feed says so, otherwise Calendar sync, PMS / SortedStay or Added by you.
If a name still will not appear
Type it once in the List view and everything downstream can use it. If a guest says they registered and you cannot see the name, reply to any email from QuietStay with the property and the arrival date.
